At 23-years-old, I still act like a little kid when it comes to frolicking in the pool. To me, a pool is the second-best, summer cool-down cure, next to a frozen margarita. However, living in NYC, pools are few and far between. Unless you have a friend who is blessed enough to reside in a building with a rooftop pool, you’re basically shit outta luck. But hey, that’s what beaches (and trips to Florida) are for!
Since I rarely go in the water during the summer to begin with, I typically limit my new swimsuit purchases to one per year. So far, my goal of investing in quality clothing has been working out pretty well for me, and it all started with the Infinite Boob Swimsuit from 323 Clothing, an L.A.-based brand. I discovered 323 on Garmentory, an online resource that provides information about and access to a variety of indie boutiques, as well as emerging designers and brands.
While this swimsuit was a little above my price point, I felt better when I learned that all of 323’s products are handmade, and a portion of all sales goes directly to the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles to help homeless women in the area. It gives me great pleasure to support brands that seek to make a difference and produce their clothing with love and care.
