The Art of Everyday Layering

September 5, 2016 Leave a Comment

When you think of layering, the winter season most likely comes to mind. More often than not, your thought process turns to, “How many articles of clothing can I wear in this frigid climate before I topple over?”

Layering has become more than just a means to keep yourself warm. It’s about taking basic closet staples, such as a T-shirt or cami, and combining them with more riveting, standout pieces to style your outfits in unique and eye-arresting ways.

After further thought, I realized layering can be extremely practical for everyday situations. The best part is, it can be done during all four seasons. Can’t bare too much at work with an off-the-shoulder romper? Layer it over a basic tee. Is your going-out top taking the plunge too far down your cleavage for daylight wear? Place a cute knit sweater underneath. Better yet, with fall right around the corner, consider pairing a turtleneck sweater or bodysuit with a pinafore dress.

Check out some of my favorite layering looks below for some initial inspiration.
