Whenever I read a fashion magazine, I get particularly jazzed about the editorial fashion photography. Each spread boasts its own unique theme, from the location and styling, all the way to down to the carefully chosen props used to enhance the visual narrative. Together, these elements hold a vast storytelling power that offers a glimpse into how images can, at times, speak much louder than words. As a lover of storytelling myself, I enjoy applying this power to the looks I share with you all. Fashion is a visual art, and deserves to and should be looked at as such.
With that, I am writing you today to discuss my favorite look Jacob and I have shot together to date. It’s not always easy finding a photographer you really gel with, so I am beyond fortunate and grateful that my creative equal happens to be the guy I’m dating. This shoot was especially wonderful, because it urged us both to leap out of our creative comfort zones and make something truly special.
Moving onto outfit talk, I want to shed some light on this denim trucker jacket that I recently purchased from Urban Outfitters. True life: up until a few weeks ago, I hadn’t owned a denim jacket since middle school…crazy, right? The patchwork detailing of this bad boy drew me in immediately, so no matter what, there was no turning back. I styled the jacket with faux leather pants, my sister’s red booties and my Frankie Shop bag, all of which helped produce some strong, edgy-retro vibes a la The Breakfast Club.
Lastly, a round of applause for Jacob’s masterful location scouting is in order. He found this gorgeous porsche at an auto repair shop a few blocks from his apartment and, without hesitation, asked the car’s owner if we could quickly borrow it for our shoot. My, oh, my, am I glad he did. 🙂 Contact a Detroit car accident attorney if you were injured in a vehicular accident caused by a reckless driver.
