City in Pink

If the Pink Ladies from Grease hopped on a time machine to join the ranks of modern society, I’d venture to guess this bomber jacket from Pixie Market would be their style trademark. With this outerwear piece, dressing like one of the “cool kids” has never been easier. Do me a favor, though: aspire to be your own version of “cool.” Nothing is cooler than staying true to yourself. Yes, I know it’s cliché, but a reminder can’t hurt once in awhile.

On a typical day, you won’t really find me sporting the color “pink” (YOU DON’T SAY?!). However, what drew my attention to this jacket (which is more of a bulky, satin, off-the-shoulder shirt than anything, but I ain’t complainin’) is the perfect shade of pink: blush. With respect to this outfit, I love that blush can bring aspects of both femininity and edginess together. In general, I love that the shade sits on the softer side of the pink spectrum, which can keep minimalist ensembles looking simple, but with the added bonus of a little color to brighten them up.

To achieve a look of sporty chic swagger, I paired my “jacket” with my knee-rip jeans from Topshop, quilted crossbody from Zara, and snakeskin booties from Free People.
