Ok, I know I’ve mentioned in previous posts that fall has finally landed and is here to stay, but I can’t be held responsible for Mother Nature’s mood swings. So, please forgive me for the additional bare-legged action on the blog for the time being.
Strangely enough, it took putting this look together for me to realize just exactly how I would go about describing my personal style, if someone were to ask. I think it’s important to acknowledge this because it will help me with the future evolution of my outfit choices, which, in turn, will allow me to be a continued source of guidance for you all as you shape your own individual and unique styles! 🙂
Simply put, I am a minimalist. I have said it before, and I will say it again. Neutral hues give me life, whereas bright colors and eclectic prints do not. When planning out my outfits, I also like to pull style influences from decades’ past (especially the ’70s and ’90s) and apply them to my modern, minimalist wardrobe.
As you can see here, I am basically channeling a ’70s Blair Waldorf in her Constance uniform (although, let’s be real, B wouldn’t be caught dead wearing sneakers). The vintage charm of the A-line, button-front skirt and the fringe handbag works in conjunction with the “now trending” appeal of the cold shoulder dress and white sneakers. The best part? My neutral color palette remains intact.
Hopefully, this post has provided a dash of inspiration and a nudge in the right direction on your journey to discovering your own personal style. Thanks for reading! <3
