Detox–it’s a word that carries so much meaning and importance, although the definition varies for each of us. For example, while the recent weather in New York has been “three-days-of-70-degrees-followed-by-a-weekend-of-rain-and-low-50s” deplorable, I’ve gotta give it up to Mother Nature for this break in blogging. It’s allowed me to hit the “reset” button and refocus my time and energy on taking better care of myself. Doing so can only bolster my creativity in the end, and it’s the more attractive alternative to biting off more than I can chew and ultimately, tiring myself out.
During my brief cool-down, I managed to cook up some ideas for fresh content that I think you guys will enjoy. An editorial calendar is in the works, and I’m looking very forward to sharing more dimensions of myself with you all, while continuing to use style as the focal point.
Speaking of style, let’s get down to this look! I wanted to take the opportunity to dress accordingly for a rare spring day (considering this year’s track record) in the city. I opted for a minimal, vintage ensemble featuring one of the blog’s biggest hits: the patent leather Mango boots! I wanted to choose a shoe that would balance out the blue in the outfit and simultaneously make a statement. Also, please give a warm welcome to a new addition to the blog and another Mango staple: these wide-leg, cropped jeans! I love tucking shirts into anything high-waisted or wide-legged because it immediately adds a vintage vibe to a look.
Post takeaway: cramming our schedules to the point of leaving little time to gasp for air is an offense we are all guilty of committing, but remember, you are your most important ally. Without your health (both mental and physical), you can’t be the best version of yourself. If you are currently in need of some self-TLC, drop your pen (or remove those tired hands from your keyboard), remind yourself of the activities that bring you perpetual joy, and go do them solo or with the people you love. Then, when you’re all recharged, get out there and be the best #girlboss you can be.
With my confidence boosted by these positive changes, I ventured into cosmetic treatments such as Jeuveau – Venus Rising Med Spa and Dysport injections in Lehi, UT. I started with a skincare regimen supervised by a doctor like this acne doctor in Dedham, MA since I had acne, followed by procedures like microdermabrasion to improve my skin texture and tone and more invasive ones like abdominoplasty in Naperville, IL. These treatments made me look better, sure, but more importantly, they made me feel invincible. It’s empowering to look in the mirror and see a vibrant, refreshed face staring back.
