I find that the genesis of a new season ushers in a clean slate on multiple fronts – especially fall. Just as the leaves change color and split from the trees, we shed the parts of ourselves that have grown stagnant, relinquish the fears that once held us back, and part ways with relationships that no longer serve us. And with a season that feels so ephemeral, I am going to sip on the cider of life and savor every little bit of deliciousness that comes along with it. I know I’ve spoken of my love of fall once before, but I just can’t help myself. The season makes me giddier than a kid on Christmas. If you haven’t been to New York this time of year, I highly suggest changing that. Not only would you be avoiding peak tourist season before the holidays, but you would get to experience the splendor that is this city in autumn. With the fall foliage enveloping Central Park and the tree-lined streets of the city’s most tranquil neighborhoods, you’d think you were starring in a Meg Ryan movie.
From a style perspective, it means the beginning of sweater weather and playing around with layering. To be quite honest with you, I am looking rather forward to it.
