Although pink fails to achieve “Outstanding Member” status in my preferred color palette, it does not mean I dislike wearing the color. In fact, my drawers used to be filled to the brim with bright colors, with pink being the most dominant. Alas, as we evolve, our sense of style tends to do the same.
I purchased this ombré sweater from Topshop in high school, but I never got much use out of it. I was on the fence about throwing it in my giveaway/sell pile when my sister recommended that I keep it. She said it was distinct and bold enough to give it another chance, and so another chance is what I gave it, indeed.
There are various reasons why I’m happy I salvaged this sweater, as it is unlike any of the others I own. It’s ombré, distressed and open in the back — attributes that contribute to the sweater’s girly-edgy design. Furthermore, it gently disrupts my neutrals’ closet invasion.
To elevate the sweater’s edginess, I sported these new diamond-patterned tights (a gift courtesy of Berkshire Legwear) along with my sister’s Topshop leather skirt that I strongly wish was mine. The buckle and zipper details are simply amazing, don’t you think?
Lastly, I threw on my new and already-dirty-because-city-life pair of white sneakers from Topshop to solidify the street-style ensemble. If you dare to go even edgier, swap out sneakers for a pair of black, lace-up combat boots. Happy styling, babes!
Thank you to Lipton Publicity and Berkshire Legwear for the tights!
