Hiya, babes! With June rapidly approaching, white is well on its way to becoming, once again, the HBIC of all summer colors. Despite this long-held fashion ideal, I remain fervent in my stance on wearing white year-round, because if you know how to rock a color from season to season, then why the hell not?
I’m especially excited about this post because I get to introduce some new closet favorites to you all, including a pair of white pants that, contrary to my beliefs, are better suited for a warmer climate. First up, we have this gingham tank top from Free People. Since relinquishing an abundance of college-era crop tops, my summer wardrobe has waned quite a bit. Alas, I am slowly in the midst of refilling my closet with warmer clothes. However, instead of buying in bulk, I plan on investing in fewer and slightly pricier items that I can constantly re-wear (like this tank). Repeat offenders of the world, unite!
I love this top because it goes with EVERYTHING — denim shorts, wide-legged pants (I know, I have a problem), whatever! If looking chic is part of your game this summer, this tank is a must-have! To style the top, I paired it with my white ruffled pants from Zara. I’d been preparing for the perfect moment to share these beauties with you guys once the weather permitted, and FINALLY, here we are! They are a statement piece all on their own, so it’s more than okay to keep things simple up above and on your feet. They are sheer, though, so if you decide to buy a similar pair, be sure to have the appropriate undergarments on deck.
Lastly, I rounded out the ensemble with a block-heeled sandal from Vince Camuto. I’d been on the hunt for a red shoe for a little while now, and I think this one adds the perfect pop of color to any neutral look. Plus, nothing says “ALL the bonus points” quite like a heel heel that provides prime walking functionality. 🙂
