The teddy coat — also known as the piece in your closet that will elicit excessive touching and petting from friends due to its stuffed animal-like softness. It is also one of my favorite coats of the season, as it hits the shelves in various styles and price points for all. From a chic, oversized fit with a shaggy texture, to an edgier, albeit short zip-up with a plush feel, the teddy trend combines coziness, warmth, and style like no other kind of outerwear can.
When I first took this jacket out for a spin, I was surprised at how well-insulated it is. I paired it with a turtleneck, jeans, and sneakers while apple picking up in Westchester County, and it kept me nice and warm amidst the crispy fall air.
For this look, however, I stuck to my street style guns and opted to dress a little less casual, but still comfortable, of course. I kept neutrals alive by pairing the jacket with contrast panel velvet pants in a chocolate brown hue. I layered a white turtleneck underneath to protect my neck from the cold, and rounded out the outfit with Vans to contribute some additional edge to the look.
What do you think of teddy coats? Do you like them? If so, do you prefer them long or short?
A special thank you to Poppy Lovers Fashion for gifting me with the jacket featured in this post.
