Expectations. Why on EARTH do we have them, especially when they fail us nine times out of 10 and leave us with nothing but a severe case of disillusionment with life and a pair of blue balls?
Before your mind turns morbid, I am actually talking about the weather. It only took a week or two of 60-degree weather in the month of February for us to expect that spring awakening to stay for the long haul. Now, every weekend for the past couple of weeks has been brutally frigid and windy. I know, so rude of Mother Nature; but in the event of such meteorological confusion, style must prevail (even if your warmer wardrobe is squealing for attention).
I made a promise to you all that these Mango boots would make a return to the blog, and I’m so glad I followed through on it. Not only are they patent leather (MY FAVE), but I have yet to find a similar pair online for you guys in that color. Believe me, I’ve tried. In a way, though, that’s what makes this shoe so unique and special.
I wanted to shoot in my boyfriend’s neck of the woods (Williamsburg) last weekend, so I chose an outfit that mirrors the diverse character of Brooklyn, from vivid to gritty. I can’t resist a graffiti wall because it accentuates street style wear so well, so it was a miracle when Jacob and I randomly stumbled upon this one as we were on the verge of contracting frostbite. Good times!!!
Real takeaway of this post: if you find a pair of shoes that make you question everything you thought you knew about shoes in the best way possible, never let them go.
